Summer is a time for exploration, growth, and learning, and this year, the New Bright Community Development Center (NBCDC) in collaboration with Atse Nakutolab Primary School and Gulele Sub-city Woreda 02 Youth Personality Development Center, took it upon themselves to make it truly special for the children and youth in their community. Through a series of engaging activities, they aimed to inspire and empower the young minds while ensuring a fun-filled break from their daily routines.
At the heart of this summer initiative were skill training sessions that catered to both school children and local youth. These sessions covered a wide range of valuable skills, including Communicative English, Basic Computer Skills, and Painting. NBCDC’s vision was clear: to equip the participants with practical skills that would not only boost their confidence but also enhance their employability in the future.
Empowering through Language and Technology
Language is a powerful tool, opening doors to communication and understanding. Recognizing this, NBCDC organized Communicative English classes that were not only instructive but also interactive. Children and youth had the chance to improve their language skills while engaging in conversations that broadened their horizons. In our increasingly digital age, computer literacy is a fundamental skill. The Basic Computer Skills training provided by NBCDC were designed to bridge the digital divide. This knowledge is not only crucial for academic and professional growth but also for staying connected in the digital era.
Nurturing Creativity through Art
Artistic expression is a cornerstone of human creativity. NBCDC recognized the importance of fostering this creativity and organized painting classes as part of their summer program.
